Went down to my gym very hungry and with coffee in me, which I'm realizing is a surefire recipe for me to suck at pressing overhead. Blacked out when lifting 215 on the log overhead and fell backwards with it just before lockout. Couldn't even get it off my chest on a second attempt.
Transitioned instead to doing 18 ABCs with a pair of 50 lb kettlebells, done in 5:26. So glad I can do these again without elbow pain. I was winded at the end and felt like it was a very good way to spend 5 minutes.
Going to repeat the strongman workout on Friday with 210 on the log and more food in me.
A day after Tuesday's boxing class, I received an email saying that same coach is leaving the gym to focus on his family. Very glad I got one last lesson on Tuesday, as he's been my favorite coach. His twin brother is probably the best fighter at our gym and is a Golden Gloves winner who also coaches the advanced class on Monday, but it's during my work period. I have a good rapport with them both and they always say what's up whenever we see each other outside of Tuesday's class. Eventually, I will get into the advanced class one way or another.
